The Workshop
This 4 day class will cover all aspects of pastel drawing and painting, colour application and techniques, how to measure and balance you art work, study of lighting and seeing proportion, perspective, shapes and alignment. Advice on various materials available and their use and preference for their intended purpose. Demonstration and discussion on portrait photography interpreting photos for art purposes.
Students can bring your own special photos, (Not to be taken with flash) or Maxine has a supply with her, that you can borrow.
This Four day class will start on Thursday 1st July 2010.
The Tutor
Maxine is a realist artist, specialising in Animals and portraiture. Her teaching methods are by demonstration and explanations, combined with a teaching ability to instil all the fundamentals. Her goals for her students are to increase their appreciation of art, to encourage beginners to venture into the pleasures of artistic expression, to empower them with skills to express artistic ideas for their own and viewers' enjoyment and to extend advanced students. Maxine's forte is portraits and she has the ability to motivate students to achieve accurate likeness, to capture the character of their subjects.
