"Creating a Likeness in Clay"

with

Kate French

The Workshop

Sculpture by Kate FrenchCreate a "Portrait Likeness" in clay. Kate will impart the secrets of her unique, self- developed sculpting method in this six day workshop. As a class participant, whether you are a complete novice or an experienced artist, you will learn the techniques to create your own personalized sculpture. You will hand-build the form of your sculpture using Kate's easy, methodical, technique. Then, particular emphasis is placed on the understanding and capturing of varied facial features, followed by techniques to animate those features with expression. Each step of the process is clearly and thoroughly demonstrated. Past students of this popular and informative workshop, have been delighted with the outcomes of their efforts, and have frequently gone on to produce high quality works under their own steam.
