Art Festival
Maryborough has been making History for more than 160 years and the Art Society has been part of it for a third of that time. 2011 saw another very successful 2 weeks of Art Displays in City Hall and workshops in all aspects of painting, drawing and circus performing. Workshops created great fun and learning for nearly 100 students during the festival last year

Jenni Kelly
ACRYLICS: As only Jenni can “do” Acrylics, be prepared to slop, drop, and swish your paint, and even produce several masterpieces!
Lizzie Connor
VERSATILE ACRYLICS: Lizzie Connor encourages artists to experiment and become more adventurous with their painting. Her workshop will explore their creativity and push the boundaries of painting while discovering the versatility of acrylics
Pete Pinza
WATER COLOUR: Pete only uses pure Watercolour and does not handle Gauche or
acrylic. His class will fill early as he was very popular last year with his very positive approach to the medium.
We may be able to get him to bare all and pose for an evening session as well!

Judy Pomroy
WATER COLOURS: Judy's enthusiastic and innovative approach to painting techniques continues to stimulate and inspire her many students, bringing to life her philosophy that art is a shared experience. Her experience, both national and international, is sure to benefit students of the water colour media from the novice to the experienced.
Louise Corke
PASTELS: Louise Corke's passion for art together with her award winning international experiences will make for an exceptional pastel workshop and provide artists with a greater understanding of light, temperature and colour as voiced through pastels. Grace Paleg
PASTELS: Grace Paleg is an artist who has achieved distinction using the medium of pastel. Her varied subject matter of Portrait, Still life, Landscape and Life drawing has won in excess of 160 awards.
Robbyn Gergos
PASTELS AND GRAPHITE: An award winning South East Queensland Artist Robbyn Gergos, tutors budding artists in a range of medias including paints, pastels, charcoal, graphite, leatherwork and much more. During these workshops Robbyn will focus primarily on pastels and graphite.
Cynthia Hargraves
OIL PAINTING:Cynthia Hargraves is a qualified art teacher having taught art for many years across a range of media. In recent years Cynthia has been conducting art workshops at various venues around Australia. This workshop will focus on oil paintings and in particular putting people into paintings.
Chris Blake
OIL PAINTING: Chris Blake specializes in using colour and tone to produce vibrant and exciting landscapes, marinescapes and streetscapes. The colours and tones he selects are placed to enhance the natural atmospheric light in a scene so that sunsets, stormy days, bright mornings or quiet and still days are portrayed with life and character. Kate French
In this workshop Kate will aim to both inspire you and give you the practical hands-on instruction that will help you to develop the skills necessary to express your self through clay sculpture.
Michael Fix
GUITAR POWER: Only a handfull of performers can hold an audience spellbound with an acoustic guitar. Michael Fix is one of them.

Spaghetti Circus
CIRCUS…..CIRCUS……CIRCUS - Yes there will be all the fun of the Circus and performance again this year ... with Spaghetti Circus.
While you attend a Workshop, your partner can soak up the ambience of Maryborough, visiting ten museums or one of the fifty plus Restaurants and Cafes and Pubs. Enjoy a round or two of Golf, go boating or just wander around and immerse themselves in the atmosphere of our Heritage City.

There are classes for all mediums.
Prize money will be announced later
There are sections at City Hall show for children and young people to enter art work, as well as have fun at Circus
Entries for the Awards close on 24th May 2012
and the Official opening and
Prizegiving will be at 7.30 pm 25th June 2012
at City Hall.
